Description
Francisco (Bico) and his wife Iolanda, riverside dwellers from the Acará river, supply wild cacao growing on the banks of the Arauaia, Acará and Guamá rivers, from 10 riverside families. The pair provided more than 3 tonnes of cacao to maker Luisa Abram in the year of 2022, despite the conditions they have for cacao production – Bico doesn’t have a formal company, and their carrier doesn’t travel to where he lives. Bico also doesn’t have invoices for the cacao, which the carrier requires for transport – although it can be a struggle to actually get the product out of his house, Bico is extremely enthusiastic about cacao production and says it really changed his life.
