About ENRICHD
ENRICHD was founded in 2015, after the founder, Richard Enion, had an earth-shattering wake up call. ENRICHD, based in Burton-on-Trent in the UK, sells a collection of pure and potent mushroom extract powders and teas, which are proven to boost your wellbeing when taken regularly. Their chocolate bars use Peruvian chocolate made by Jacques Cöp, founder and chief chocolate maker at Coco Caravan, who began making in Stroud, Gloucestershire in 2012. Their bars are dairy-free, gluten-free, organic, and use unrefined and low fructose sweeteners, like coconut sugar.
How they became makers…
After having a tumour removed, Rich was laying on his hospital bed in between operations when he realised that you have to take responsibility for your own health – which is why he became intensely fascinated by foods to support longevity. Rich participated in weeks of silent meditations, years of tea and mushroom ceremonies, and even living with Drs of traditional Chinese medicine, before travelling back to England and starting ENRICHD.
ENRICHD’s Sourcing
ENRICHD’s chocolate bars are made by Coco Caravan, and at the heart of Coco Caravan lies a deep respect for the farming, the farmers, and the environment.
Growing up in a farming community has taught Jacques and his family the importance of sustainability, connections, and longevity – so when sourcing their cacao, Coco Caravan adhere to three principles: environmental impact, social impact, and quality. The company is also committed to working with indigenous communities and supporting their independence. In light of this, Coco Caravan carefully select their cacao brokers and producers based on their environmental and ethical credentials, and work closely with them to make ongoing improvements. Currently, Jacques and his team are working with bean brokers such as Silva Cacao, Uncommon Cacao and Cacao Latitudes.
