About Mike & Becky
Based in Belgium, Julia ‘Mike’ Mikerova and Björn ‘Becky’ Becker are the owners of Brussels’ first organic Bean-to-Bar chocolate workshop, and pride themselves on real, honest chocolate. Importing fine cacao beans directly from 5 plantations around the world, sustainability is not just a word to them. In addition to paying a fair price which is far about the market price and avoiding plantations which use child labour, Mike & Becky also only use organic beetroot sugar, which is incorporated into their bars at their 100% green powered production facility.
How Mike & Becky became makers…
Back in March 2015, Mike and Becky stumbled across the Chococafe in Prague – a paradise for hot chocolate lovers, with hot chocolate sourced from all around the globe, at various percentages and with additional flavourings. And although Brussels, where the pair lived, was the chocolate capital of the world, the hot chocolate wasn’t very tasty. Despite having no-chocolate making experience, Mike and Becky began to research the world of fine chocolate – where they uncovered the bean-to-bar movement. After realising the movement had completely missed Belgium, Mike & Becky began importing bean-to-bar chocolate from around the world to sell in their online shop, ‘Bean2Bar2You’, and completely fell in love. A year later, the pair launched ‘Mike & Becky’, the first bean-to-bar atelier/ shop/ café in Brussels.

Mike & Becky’s Sourcing
Mike & Becky source their beans from 7 different cooperatives spread across the globe, spanning from Peru all the way to The Philippines; all of which remunerate the farmers fairly for the cocoa they are growing, and don’t use children as workers on the plantations.
