About Hasnaâ La Feverie

Hasnaâ La Feverie is the bean-to-bar branch of Hasnaâ Chocolats Grands Crus, a chocolatier based in Bordeaux, France. The founder, Hasnaâ Ferreira, has always wanted transparency to be at the forefront of Hasnaâ La Feverie’s mission – by controlling every aspect of the bar making process from start to finish, Hasnaâ is able to ensure that all of their chocolates avoid artificial flavourings and preservatives. All of the bars from Hasnaâ La Feverie have been wrapped in 100% compostable cellulose cases, and chose natural Kraft for the outer case – a decision made by Hasnaâ’s art-director husband Vincent! Aside from bean-to-bar chocolates, Hasnaâ Chocolats Grands Crus produces a wide range of chocolate-based products, including pralines, spreads, croqu’noisettes and truffles.

How they became makers…

In 2013, after an intensive 6-month training at the National Institute Of La Bakery in Rouen (France), Hasnaâ obtained her chocolate maker diploma as the valedictorian of her class after discovering her passion for chocolate and cocoa. As Hasnaâ found out she was pregnant with her second daughter on the day of her final exam for her chocolate-making diploma, Hasnaâ Chocolats Grands Crus itself wasn’t founded until 2014, with the ‘bean-to-bar’ branch of the business, ‘Hasnaâ La Feverie’, opening a few months after her initial launch.

Hasnaâ La Feverie’s Sourcing

Since the launch of its Bean To Bar workshop, Hasnaâ and Vincent’s sourcing values have been a central part of the company’s DNA. Hasnaâ La Feverie guarantees a comfortable income for farmers, and actively fights for the preservation of animal and plant species in producing countries, all while fighting against deforestation. Hasnaâ and Vincent also add an extra amount to the price of the beans to finance projects (1€ per Chuncho bar sold paid back to the cooperative to finance its expansion and process even more organic chuncho cocoa), or scholarships for women (the Chiwa Chiwa Village of Kokoa Kamili: 2$ per kilo of beans purchased are used to fund scholarships for orphan girls at the sisters’ dispensary in Chiwa Chiwa village). In 2022, the volume of beans purchased by Hasnaâ Chocolats Grands Crus financed 3 scholarships.
